I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. (John 17:14 NKJV)
It goes without saying that the world is less tolerant of the Gospel today than it was a generation ago. There was a time that if people did not obey the Bible, they still had a respect for it. We saw last week how worried our government was over the threat made by the man in Florida to burn the Qur’ans. Fear was the motivating factor; how would the Muslims react? That is not the way to win people to Christ. How can we lead them to the Cross if we stand in front of it with an M-16?
Jesus said He did not come to bring peace, but division. He came to separate the world with the Gospel. When we believe the Gospel and submit our lives to Christ we go against the beliefs of the world. Jesus prayed for us that day in the Garden as He knew this day would come. Do not be discouraged or feel defeated because of your faith in Christ and the Bible; rejoice in the fact that you are seeing the Scripture fulfilled before your eyes! Regardless of what the media says, scholars dispute, or governments legislate; the Gospel will prevail!
